Hi.

Boughts 3 * wooden beds (2 * double + 1 * single) for new home in May/June.

On day of delivery, sat on single bed and the side beam broke and as delivery guys seen it happen replaced it.

Last night 2 people sat on the edge of one of double beds and the side beam broke.

Decided to check other double bed last night and beam underneath bed running up the middle of the bed has a crack. The crack is 3/4 way through near a knot in the beam and when people in bed the beem dips significantly. Don't think it will hold long term. (This bed has been rarely used as in spare room)

Do I have any comeback in relation to beds? No kids etc in house jumping on them.

Thanks

Sounds to me like they're simply not fit for purpose, and you should be entitled to a refund or replacement. Document exactly what happened, including the broke-on-day-of-delivery bit, contact the shop, tell them what happened and what solution you want. If they aren't helpful, put it in writing, and start citing the legislation (Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act, 1980) - see

- and explain that you want to deal with them on an amicable basis but that you'll be prepared to (/will have no choice but to) bring it to the Director of Consumer Affairs if they won't resolve it to your satisfaction.

Good luck.
