NCT and wheel alignment

I went to a garage on spec to have my tyres checked and they were worn and a little unevenly because of alignment. So I left the car there for the day and asked them to do whatever they could with the tyres/alignment because my NCT was the following week.

On the receipt it says I was charged for 2 tyres, valve+balance+casing dispoals and also Alignment 2W (Front Toe Angles Aligned).

I passed the NCT but when I look at the report it says under the "Side Slip Alignment Test, Font Axle -14m/km. The Limits are +14 to -14 fail. So it seems to me I nearly failed. Should this not have been covered in the work the garage did on the car?

99.999% of garages (inc main dealers) dont have the same test equipment such as a rolling road as the nct centres have and are therefore unable to accurately measure that kind of stuff. im sure your car is perfectly fine, its the nct that is BS. ill bet if you took your car back again , theres a huge chance that you would get a completely different result.
