I have Bridgestone Turanza ER300 tyres all around on my car, 3 were purchased recently the other was from the boot from when the car was new.
The new tyres will have the recent E mark on them, although it is exactly the same I do not think the older tyre will have this, will this be OK for the NCT?

All tyres have to be E marked for the NCT. Put it through the test and see what happens. If they fail you on the tyre there will be no charge for bringing it back for a visual inspection

The 2012 NCT Manual states in part

Page 60 "2. Examination is confined to tyres fitted to the road wheels. If, however, any defect on a tyre carried on a spare wheel is seen, the driver should be advised." and

Page 61 "3. Check that each tyre fitted on the vehicle has an E-mark or e-mark"

Spare is advisory only, and only if defects or deviations from spec are seen. The check on the spare is just to be sure you have one, if you don't have run-flats / tyre-weld.

Thanks all. Seems a bit silly if you have had a perfectly good tyre for a few year it can fail now. I will put my spare on, it will be less safe but legal
