National public service strike: Bizarre letter in today’s IT

In the letters page of today’s IT (under National public service strike) [broken link removed] a Mr Puplet writes: “Madam, – Leaving the house on Tuesday I put the bins out before catching a bus into Blackrock to collect a parcel from the post office on the way to the Dart station. – Yours, etc,”.



What does this mean? It’s clearly a coded reference – but to what? I think we should be told.
 
Referring to a distinction (sometimes not made) between private, semi-state and public sector?

Commenting on the services that are still available regardless of strikes - i.e. 'life goes on' etc?
 
Or maybe the writer got confused with their highly eventful intended 'tweet' for the morning :rolleyes:
 
I think it might be a reference to the fact that many public services were still available, though I'm not sure if this is praising or attacking the strikers or those who were still at work.
