I lived and paid for 1 year National Insurance contributions in the Uk.Am I entitled to claim a pension benefit from this ,albeit probably a very small value?

You should be able to get Irish PRSI credits for any UK National Insurance contributions paid and these will be added to any other PRSI payments when assessing your entitlement to PRSI linked social welfare benefits. The section has some information that may be of assistance. If in doubt just contact the DSFA with your details (PPS/RSI number, UK National Insurance number and details of payments) and they should be able to assist you with this.
