Bought my 1st house in 2000 only my name on the deeds
Then met my current wife in 2001 we bought a house together but had only her name on the deeds.

Do we need to have both names on the deeds of both houses or does it matter for the future
Thanks

If they make a will and don't get divorced it won't matter. Are both houses mortgage free ? It could be costly to change if there are mortgages still owing.

You should have both your names on the two houses. There is no stamp duty charged on transfer of property between spouses. One of the main advantages is the smooth transfer to surviving spouse in the event of the death of one partner without having to get a grant of probate.
