My samsung Galaxy was very hot

I took my phone out of my pocket yesterday and it was roasting hot. Not just warm, very hot. I was not near a source of heat such as a radiator. It was also completely dead. An hour or so earlier, it was working fine.

I charged it the day before yesterday and again yesterday.

O2 couldn't tell me anything over the phone except to bring it into the shop.

I have moved the sim card back to my old phone, so there is no rush on getting it fixed.

I presume the battery is faulty? Do they give me a new one or do I have to buy it? Can I buy it cheaper somewhere other than o2?

I liked my old Nokia phone and it's a pleasure to have it back. Can I have two phones operating off the same number?

Thanks Sue E

I had searched myself but had found nothing.

My problem is different from theirs - in that my phone has gone dead as a result. I brought it into the o2 store and they were surpised at it. They have sent it to a workshop for repairs. He said that the battery was slightly warped, presumably by the heat.
