is jumping all over the place when i am typing. it jumps back to the previous sentence frequently and drives me ****ng mental.

there was a programme called stop freeze or something, that keeps the cursor in place when typing, but wouldnt work for vista.

sometimes the page scrolls suddenly to the bottom aswell.
 
At a guess ..

if you have a mouse, the 'ball rollers' may need some housekeeping. Easy to do with a sharp blade.
 
sorry, i should have said it is a dell laptop, i don't have a separate mouse but a built in one
 
Perhaps the touch sensitive pad is very sensitive and your fingers are hovering very close to it when typing, thus causing movement of the cursor?
 
Its a fault in the touchpad on the Dell laptop - same thing happens an old work one I have.
 
I've seen this happen somethimes when you plug another usb device into the pc also. GPS particularly.
