MSExcel Question - using Subtotals

Say you have a table with a column of Customer names and a column of values, with more than one value per Customer.

Then you use Subtotal to get a summary by Customer. How do you copy and paste so that you end up with the subtotals only, and eliminate the rows making up the subtotal?

I know that you can click on the + to the left and it will show the subtotals only, but the details is still there, just hidden. I want to do this so that I can use the result to do a VLOOKUP.

Any ideas?

Click the "-" to close the legs
Higlight the area
F5
Special
Click Visible cells only radio button
Copy
and Paste (paste special values, if you want only the values)

There are several ways of doing this in excel but this is the way I have been doing it for years.
