MP4 player - advice needed on how to work it

I wish to purchase a MP4 or MP3 player as a present to someone who like me does not have a clue how to work this gadget.

Pls could you direct me to a website that could tell me how this thing works. I don't know how to download songs, etc.

To get music on an MP3/4 player you need a computer/laptop, broadband if you want to download songs from internet using a prog like limewire. Songs downloaded are in MP3 format, an mp3 player will have a usb connection, plug that into laptop and drag and drop files. The iimportant bit is the format has to be mp3 so a bought cd has to be "ripped"(copied) to computer hard drive in mp3 format.
