Moving to Australia

Just got a permanent Australian visa and I will shortly be moving down under. I am a software programmer and my employer here has asked me to continue working in my Irish job. I can switch from working as a PAYE employee to working as an independent contractor if that is better for me. I'm not sure what the tax implications are though. Can anyone advise?
 
Don't know anything about this, but will be looking into the implications of working abroad myself. If you do a search on AAM you should find some recent threads that are relevant. You could also check out the Revenue's website where they have a doc on working abroad. [broken link removed].
