Moving Money abroad

Dear All,

There's a strong possibility I'll be leaving Ireland for Scotland over the next year to live and I've a deposit of approx €60K for a house that I obviously want to bring with me. If anyone could advise on the least expensive / safest way to get my deposit to the UK, it would be appreciated.

You'll probably have to pay bank charges for transfer not to mention conversion rate, can't help you with who is the cheapest but just wonder would it help to move it to a bank here that also exists in Scotland? Alternatively an online bank like rabo direct? Do you actually have to move the funds? Could you not just leave them here and call on them when you need them?
 
euro today reached a new all time high v sterling, good time to cash in unless you want to gamble it goes even higher
