@dubdub123 I was going to use such when I was moving home a couple of years back. I got very mixed information related to them, mainly that they aren't water tight, subject to moisture and thus can cause mould growth on anything stored in there if not properly ventilated etc.
Made a decision to sell as much furniture as I could for a number of reasons - mainly that the furniture that I had in the original home would not be suitable for the new house, the cost of storage for 5+ months and the risk of it being affected while in storage. Guess you need to decide if you will be using the furniture in the new house.
Thank you ! I'm taking another look at the furniture I have as I know some of it really isn't suitable. And I'm really not sure how long I will need to leave the items stored so could end up clocking up on the money fairly quickly !
Years back I used a container to ship items home from the US without an issue but not sure about longer term storage and the potential damage. I was thinking that there's probably some reputable companies out there but a few cowboys and hard to know which to use by just looking at their websites.
I had a look at self storage places off the m50 and they seem really good but pricier.
