Hi I'm 27 and bought my first house in sept 2007, i had 10k debt and no deposit when i bought the house. So i had a 100% mortgage basically, the house was 90k and with the extra 10k and a bit extra for work to the house the whole mortgage came to 106k. Over 35yrs (£717 a month), and five year fixed rate. My home town where i was born and bred is about 15 miles away from where i'am living now, the reason i bought this house is because it was to expensive to buy a house in my hometown, my 90k house would be worth about 120k there.
2 years and 2months on i've totally redone the garden and have now got off road parking and redone the bathroom from scratch and bits and bobs of improvement to the house. But it has come to a point where i'am now thinking about moving a bit closer to my hometown, I'm looking to get an estate agent to come and value the house asap and i would like to think that i'm not in to much negative equity as i've been told the house prices in my area hasnt dropped that much. But if i was to sell i would have to pay the £3000 charge for coming out of my fixed rate period. I really dont want to wait another three years for my fixed rate to finish which is probably the sensible option and house prices would of gone back up by then. but i really wanna be closer to work and my ex's house where my daughter lives so any advice or help would be gratefully appreciated.
By the way this is my first post, sorry if i blabbered on to much.

Hi Rhys,

This is an Irish site so not many may be able to answer your query. Be careful not to identify yourself, you are giving out far too much personal information.

Thanks for telling me that marietta, do you know any other good forums
