Hi,

I have a old SSIA with AIB, which still has money in it.

Is this covered by the deposit guarantee or should i move this to a deposit account asap?

Thanks,
Daithi

What return are you getting from your AIB account? It is probably close to zero. You should move your money to, at least, get a better return elsewhere.

Do you need instant access? Nationwide UK might meet your needs.

I didnt move mine and I just looked there and they have lost 1,000 since last week :( is that just because of oil or japan/new zealand?? not sure if they will recover in time. I kind of have to leave them now....shoot.

I pay 50% into on both of these funds,

AIB Multi Track Fund
Invests in widely diversified portfolio, which spans all major world stockmarkets and also provides exposure to Eurozone bonds.
The fund holds a portfolio of securities that provides exposure to more than 1700 companies.

AIB Managed Fund Series 2

Designed to invest in a carefully monitored portfolio of international shares, fixed interest securities, properties and cash deposits.
Profit through capital growth potential and reinvested income

I actually don't think I have the right mind set for this stock market lark, I will probably move into a deposit account but Im guessing I should wait for this volatile time to pass, would I be better off waiting until the summer? I know there is no guarantee things will get any better but it seems to be particularly volatile at the moment
