I am having problems with my mouse on my laptop, using a physical mouse, the touch pad and the red button in the middle of the keyboard, its as though the whole mouse software freezes.

When I start the machine up, the mouse or buttons will not work for about a minute or so. It is the same when I wake the machine up from sleep.
It seems to be getting slightly worse.

When it happens, I put the machine to sleep again, wait a few seconds and turn it on again and that fixes the problem instantly.
It never used to be like this.

Somebody has suggested I remove the driver and reinstall it.

How do I reinstall it, once I remove it?
Will it reinstall automatically after reboot?
Or should I do a windows update after uninstalling it to update it again
I have Windows 7.

Thanks

Start -> Control Panel -> Device Manager.
Click on "Mice and other Pointing Devices" to expand.

You will probably see two mice in here, your physical USB mouse and your Laptop touch pad.

Right-Click on the Touch Pad one and click on uninstall.

Reboot your PC and Windows *should* find and reinstall it.
