Motor Motor Insurance for couples-is it worth it?

Does anybody know how insuring both cars on the same policy for, say, a married couple works out? Is it worth it?

What happens to the policy that is not at renewal date?
 
it won't be any cheaper than having two separate policies. Each car will have to earn its own NCB.
 
wife and i have 2 separate policies at separate renewal dates...We both have full no claims... my insurance reduced by adding her name on my policy. so worth asking for reduction there
