Hi all,First time poster here looking for advice.
Next month i make the last payment on a personal loan with BOI.
The loan was a restructure of an existing personal loan,as i wished to clear an overdraft & CC balance. This was something i requested as i wanted to get rid of my OD & CC.
I recently found out that i missed1 payment over 2 years ago , and thus the loan has been in arrears.
BOI state that they issued one letter to me at the time, which i didn't receive, most likely because i was moving house at the time.
Obviously i know its my responsibility to ensure my repayments are up to date and am very annoyed at myself for letting this slip through.
Obviously im now very concerned this will stop me getting a mortgage.
I am 30, recently married and we both earn 40K per year.
We are currently renting & saving about 900 per month for a deposit.
We don't anticipate applying for a mortgage until 2015 when we will have a 10% deposit. We have no other loans and my wife has a credit card that is kept to a minimum and payments are always on time.
I am really concerned now that this could stop us getting a mortgage as it will show up on my ICB records.
Anyone got any advice or been in a similar situation?
