Mortgages and Fixed Term Employment Contracts

Hi

I have a fixed term employment contract which will be renewed after one year subject to satisfactory performance. I recently applied for a mortgage and as I am only asking to borrow a small amount, I assumed that there would not be an issue with the application.

This was not the case. Can anybody recommend a Bank / Building Society which does lend to employees on fixed term contracts?

Some lenders are just not lending to fixed term contract workes but BOI and EBS/Haven certainly are lending but it really is on a case by case basis. The rest of your application will have to be very strong i.e low loan to value, decent savings, well managed current account, no loans.
