I would appreciate any advice. Our mortgage was originally with Ulster Bank, a few years ago we missed payments which weren't properly caught up on. Early In 2018 the mortgage we got notice that it was going to be sold to Promontoria Scariff. Before the transaction was completed, we caught up on all arrears so that there weren't any arrears when it was transferred to Promontoria Scariff . Payments have been going fine for the last year since the transfer, however, this month we get a letter to say it is being transferred to Pepper. Now I'm a bit sceptical, cause we only have 33 more months to pay and the balance is approx. 20,000 and the entire payback at this stage will be around €20,700. It is a variable interest rate and I'm concerned that Pepper will increase the interest dramatically. I was looking at possibly taking out a bank loan to pay it off, but the bank loan would cost about €3000 interest over 36 months.
