I am getting a 200,000 euro mortgage. Can anyone advise re mortgage protection protection? Mortgage is over 30 years and i obviously hope to repay well in advance of this.

My broker has quoted 30 euro per month for basic mortgage protection. I see on 123.ie and Tesco.ie that i can get same for 20 euro. What is the difference??? Any advice would be appreciated- would the 20 euro product be inferior?

Thanks

Have you read this thread for some background info?

Only a read and comparison of the detailed terms and conditions of the policy documents in each case would answer that.

Probably not. Does your broker deal with all mortgage protection life assurance providers or only a subset? Have you asked him/her why they can't match the cheapest premium that you have found independently? Have they given their own reason why you should pay €30 rather than €20?

Try labrokers.ie.
They beat any quote I searched for and gave you a 50% reduction in the first year. Good service too.
My mortgage protection for the year is €129 for mortgage of 211K repayable over 39 years.

yeah, i second the labrokers recommendation.. my policy is 100 euro per year for a 120,000 mortgage over 30 years - and they give me 50 euro back in the first year

Quick question, all the quotes I have received give a monthly premium. Can the premium be paid yearly, up front?
