Mortgage Protection Insurance

Having been made redundant last year I contacted my mortgage protection insurance company and EVENTUALLY got it sorted that they pay my mortgage monthly for the following 12 months if I couldnt get work.

Two questions:

1. I have since received 2 phone calls from the insurance company asking what efforts I have made to get back to work. Can they stop the payments to me if they are not happy with my efforts to get work? (Hoping to start course soon).

2. When the 12 months of payments is made by the insurance company or I should get get back to work (hopefully), should I cancel this mortgage
insurance policy?

Thanks for all advice.

You might want to edit the title of your post as I think what you are talking about is mortgage repayment protection insurance?

You would need to check your policy documents to see if it says anyhting about you having to make efforts to get back to work.

On whether you should cancel the policy, check whether you could make another claim and if so, for what. For example, if you were made redundant again in the future (hopefully not!) would you be able to claim for redundancy again? Or would you only be able to claim for other reasons.......
