Does anybody know if it is possible to get mortgage payment protection to cover mortage payments where the property has been damaged due to fire/flooding and can not be lived in for a period of time?
Some home insurance policies will cover the cost of renting while your home is uninhabitable due to damage. If this was covered then why would you want the mortgage repayments covered?
I currently have one of the rooms in the apartment rented out, so eventhough the insurance policy will cover the cost of accomodation for me, I will have to pay an additional 700 on the mortgage.
