Mortgage Payment Date

Hi all,

Simply - can you change your mortgage payment date?

Our mortgage repayments come out of our account 2 to 7 days before our salary gets paid in - I've looked forward to the rest of the year on this and see that on numerous occasions we go into a negative in our current account only for two days later to be back in the black.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

In general yes, but some banks have systems that limit how far you can move the date, for example if payment is 25th you might not be able to change it to 1st of following month. Best to ring them and ask what their policy is.
 
Thanks all. Do you think there would be huge issue with changing Mortgage Interest Relief, Home Insurance and Life Assurance.

they did it without a whimper. I did have to say pre-arrears. I'll let you know if it gets done by next month.
