Mortgage Options Building a house
Hi all,
I currently own a house and live there with my girlfriend, I am thinking of selling the house and buying a site and building my own timberFrame IJM house.
In this new house both myself and the girlfriend will be paying off the mortgage ( Joint mortgage i presume ) My questions are as follows
Is there any tax benefits to this, will my partner gain any more tax relief that myself as she will be a first time buyer ?
Also can I claim back the tax if I buy the building material ( Bricks etc ) myself ?
or on direct labour I employ ( Plumbers etc )
