mortgage moratorium, mat leave

can anyone advise me if its possible to take a break from a mortgage while on maternity leave? If so, at what stage do you have to apply for it and how long can it be for? I have a tracker mortgage and don't want to have to change to a variable, would a break effect the terms of the mortgage?

Mortgage breaks are at the discretion of the lender, so the only one who can give you a definitive answer is your lender. If they do offer you one, it shouldn't affect your tracker rate, but get this confirmed in writing before you sign up.
