Hi All,

My partner was informed yesterday that he shall be made redundant in two weeks. We purchased a house last year and have a large mortgage on same together with various car,personal loans etc. We are unmarried. I am in full time employment earning circa €30k per annum. Would there be any chance of us getting the mortgage interest supplement even though I am in full time employment?
Is the dole of €200 the only thing he will get???
 
You and your partner are treated as a couple for Social Welfare purposes, and as you are in full-time employment you will not be entitled to Mortgage Interest Supplement.
