Can anyone help out with our situation - basically I am on illness benefit and my husband has been cut to 3 days a week. We are having obvious problems financially. My question is though we foolishly got our mortgage by using an adjusted P60 - by 10,000. If we apply for MIR will social welfare check with revenue for our earnings? We did what we did at the time and have struggled for the past 12 months trying to keep going. We are well aware that we should not done what we did but whats done is done. I don't want to risk getting anyone in trouble for this also. Thanks

You're on dodgy ground with this request, all I can suggest is that you read the Mortgage Interest Supplement guidelines in detail and provide all the documentation requested, and answer all questions honestly.

Nobody here can help you with how to avoid being caught for a previous fraud, that would be against the forum rules and would probably be illegal itself.

Here are some detailed guidelines on Mortgage Interest Supplement, the last link is on the administration of the scheme and is the most detailed document of the three.
