Mortgage if I am permanent for 5 yrs but on probation following recent promotion?

I am in permanent full time employment for last 5 years with the same company. 2 months ago got a promotion to a new role which comes with probation and 2k pay increase. I just applied for mortgage and found a house we really like but start thinking as I am in probation will we get mtg approved?
 
I guess the only way you will find out is if you and your partner complete an application. I was refused 3 years ago when I changed jobs within a large public sector organisation. My Bank made me wait 12 months for my probation period to be completed which was a little frustrating at the time.
 
As the other poster said-the only way to know is to apply. If your application is totally dependent on the salary increase they may be reluctant to do so.

I think you need to edit your thread title as its not easy to decode 'mtg' is not a word and 'bcoz' is not either! Full word are better than text speak for things like this.
 
A little off topic but I would think its quite unusual to be on probation after a move within the company you've been working with for five years? What are the terms of the probation, eg can you be let go on a shorter amount of notice?

No, that would be standard across many companies. They put you on probation for your new role, to see that you can handle it.

If you were really bad they could move you back to your old role.

I have sent all documents to bank and so far the response is positive will hopefully hear from them next week so will try to keep EA off the back till then. Cheerio
 
Just to confirm that we received approval from bank 2 weeks ago and all turns out to be good. We have paid booking deposit and waiting to close the sale now.
May be it'll help someone in similar position someday, but as advised on forum I got a letter from HR explaining that I am permanent full time employee and recently moved to a similar position within the organization hence on probation outcome of which will not impact my permanent FT status in the company.
