Myself and my boyfriend are applying for a mortgage and we are getting a gift of €10,000, what is the best way to lodge this to our account and also do we need to get my parents to sign a letter?
Not really necessary to lodge it to your account. Just tell the lender about the gift at application stage. Most lenders will require a letter from your parents confirming that the €10,000 is a gift, that they don't expect any repayment, now or in the future and that they will have no interest in the property.
