Mortgage Broker Dublin

Can anyone suggest a good mortgage broker in Dublin? I am a first time buyer hoping to buy an apartment in Dublin for about €250,000. I need a broker that can get the most money for me and I don't have a clue where to start looking.
 
I used Prima Finance - Only Charge €500 for your Legal fees, saving you a few Euros.
 
We used Providence in Stillorgan - our particular broker has been in the business years, knows every offer going on the market, is very professional and very generous with his time, coming to meet us several times before we actually went ahead and applied for the mortgage. Would have no problem recommending him.
 
I used 'Simply Mortgages' on Baggot St.
Good service and they got me a good deal. Happy to recommend them.
 
Would 100% recommend Mason Financial Services especially a chap named Sean Buckely in Rathmines. Very professional and on your side!
 
At the moment i am dealing with a mortgage broker from Irish Mortgage corporation on Baggot St. I just dont trust him - this might sound silly but he is full of smooth talk whereas i just want hard facts.

Have come to the conclusion that the best way forward is to do the legwork and go around and visit the various lending institutions yourself.

My two cents.....

We have just used Irish Mortgage Corporation and i have to say they were excellent and i would recommend them to anyone

Is it Brendan that you are dealing with by any chance
 
Since noone has yet mentioned it - why not try 'AAM's finest' Sarah Wellband at www.rea.ie? I've regularly seen her dispense splendid advice (for nought, and even where REA didn't stand to gain a client...)

I just have a thing about brokers 'full of smooth talk'... :rolleyes:
 
I've only dealt with him in relation to some pension and other investments (not mortgages) but I would recommend at least checking out [broken link removed] when shopping around.

Get your hands on a copy of tomorrows Irish Times and look up the Mortgages table in the property supplement - it's a good start if your after hard facts and saves a bit on shoe leather :)
 
Meant to say - shop around for a broker and check what sort s/he is (Authorised Advisor, multi-agency intermediary - probably best to avoid tied agents), how many lenders s/he deals with (the more the better) and how s/he is remunerated. Don't be afraid to try shopping around for the mortgage yourself even if you end up going to a broker if you can't get the amount you need and they can help.

I went to simply mortgages on baggot street .

Shee/they arere an absolute ddisgracee. I was given only onee option (presumably highest comission), didn't/couldn't advise me on what would be best for me and when I decided I didn't want to havee anything to do with them, wouldn't return my documents or return my calls when I called looking for them. I'm now waiting 4 weeks for them as she won't return any calls I make and when I call to the office I am informd she is out and will call me to make an appointment, which hoof course she nevere does. I cannot stress this enough but I would never again have anything to do with them <threatening comments removed>

O my god Ballyman that is a disgrace. If i was you i would just turn up and demand your documents back. That is really terrible
 
I'd recommend Rea too. We are dealing with them at the moment and they are great! Thumps up for Rea! ;)

We didn't use a broker, so I can't really recommend one from personal experience. However my gf went through a pretty bad time with Open Financial Services trying to get a mortgage before we decided to buy together.

A colleague of mine at work is using Mortgage Horizons and says that they (or at least the person he us dealing with) are 'good'.
