Mortgage Broker commission?

Are brokers still paid by banks or does the buyer stump up for them these days? Any good reason for using a broker if buyer is paying their commission?

I used a guy recently

He charged just under 300

I have to say for ease of dealing with one person to several banks, the advice and recommendations of other services I would reccomend.

Also very approachable and personable.

No connection just a very happy repeat customers.

I used a broker when I bought a couple of years back and it was free, but I believe he is charging now. I can only speak highly of the broker that I used, he did everything, including life and house insurance, and has also renewed my house insurance every year at no extra cost.
