How long does one have to claim the Mortgage allowance after handing back a local authority house ???
 
Look it up on your local county council website. It is they who are in control of this.
 
You mean the surrender scheme? It's 11.5k payable to your mortgage provider direct over a 5 year periodon a reducing scale. I think you must negotiate it beforegiving back local authority home

From the info I received from the Local Authority it can be claimed back at any time, after you leave the house, has anyone else applied for it ???
