Hi
Ive just got a mortgage from DCC and its to be paid by 1st mth by dd. I have an ulster bank current a/c.

Anyway should I open a different a/c - is there a specific mortgage a/c?
I though I heard somewhere that there is a mortgage a/c with overdraft etc - do you get a better rate or whats the difference?
Do most ppl get an account set up because they get the mortgage through the bank - am I missing out?

Or is a normal current a/c suffice?

Thanks

I'm not aware of any mortgage account such as you describe. Most people would probably pay their mortgage by DD from their normal/regular current account. Halifax offer 10% on current account balances up to €2K if you lodge €1.5K per month in case that is of any use to you.
