Morgage interest relief for investors?

Hi does anyone know if a non-resident landlord can claim morgage interest relief or is this just for owner occupiers? Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

Only owner occupiers. Landlords who are (as required) registered with the PRTB can offset mortgage interest against rental income.

Thanks am registered with PRTB. What if the rent does not cover the mortgage fully then can the shortfall be offset against the tax?

No. Such a shortfall is your own responsibility and there is no relief for it.
