Montrose Hotel To Marley Park

Hi all,

Going to a gig in Marley Park soon and was looking at Montrose Hotel on Stillorgan Road. Would it be awkward to get from there to Marley/Rathfarnham or handy enough?

It depends really. There is no direct bus route from the hotel. You would have to walk to Stillorgan and get the 75 and that would leave you fairly close to the park. Or the 17 bus would leave you in nutgrove/rathfarnham area but you would be faced with a 25+ minute walk to the park. Taxi would be your best bet from the hotel to the gig, but getting a taxi back to the hotel afterwards could be a hassle.

Might opt for City Centre. Looking for somewhere dirt cheap but with a residents bar (Won't be stayinbg there except to sleep and drink when we come back!)

http://www.thebeacon.com/ would be much closer to Marlay, though still not on any bus route. It would be a fairly quick taxi ride. They claim to be a 'boutique' hotel, so I guess that means it is fairly pricey.

Bewleys Hotel in Leopardstown/Sandyford is very close to the Beacon and a lot cheaper so far as I can see, don't know what the story is about a residents bar though.
