I have a broken wing mirror (electric) on my 2003 Mondeo. The break is in the 'arm' that comes out from the body of the car, not the mirror itself, as the glass and the housing around it are fine. At the moment its held in place by sellotape!!
I am gettting a spurious part for 75 euro and am going to try and replace it myself to avoid prices charged in Ford garage. Any advice appreciated on how to go about it, especially how to removed the triangular part that is attached to the car, not to mention the wiring! ...Also, can the 'colour coded' part of the wing mirrror be removed and replaced with the same part from the old mirror, as its unpainted on the new mirror and it would save me having to get it sprayed.
Or should I just bite my pride and bring it to a garage?
