In the Irish Times this morning I read:

" ... on display is a 56 sq m, fully insulated two-bedroom unit from Modular Homes Ireland. ...
It was assembled on-site in two hours, according to Tommy Forbes, one of MHI’s founders. It costs €85,000."

Seemed a good idea also for anyone contemplating a garden studio or granny flat.
I tried googeling Modular homes Ireland etc but can't seem to find any information on Modular Homes Ireland.
Does anyone have link to above - or maybe they only work for county councils ?

thanks.

Couldn't find a link for Modular Homes Ireland, but the other companies mentioned have sites, http://www.managemom.com/, they state they were working with to complete the job. Another company mentioned is [broken link removed]

Planning could be quite tricky for a separate granny flat, these are generally required to be attached to the existing house so that they can't be let as separate dwellings. For non-residential uses, a log cabin type structure would be a lot cheaper.
