Mobile Video Hard Disc Drives

Hi Am looking at buying one of these, in particular [broken link removed]

has anyone bought similar recently and what did they think of it in terms of reliability, usefullness etc.

saw similar one today on [broken link removed] for €159. would also be interested to hear opinions.

Ive got the the 320 gb version. v good for what they are. just plug them into the scart on your TV, switch the AV, and you get a scrollable menu with your files on it.

Pros: Lifesaver when on holidays for the kids in the mornings. Configurable password protected folder, only viewable after password entered via remote.

Cons: I know 3 people who got the 320gb version and all have the same complaint which is the fan is noisy to the point of real annoyance. I believe you can remove the fan but that probably has its own implications long term.

If its only for home use, Id suggest going for one of the products.
