Mitchelstown Bypass??

Hi All

I will be heading to Cork (Trabolgan) on Monday from Thurles. I have printed the directions from AA Roadwathch, however, the directions tell me to "enter Mitchelstown" and Fermoy. I thought that there was a new Bypass there with a Toll etc which bypassed Mitchelstown - Am I dreaming and is it wishfull thinking on my behalf??

Yes there is a bypass but would you consider going through Lismore on this route

No, you're dead right.

Ignore the directions from New Inn as far as the Dunkettle Interchange roundabout.

From New Inn on, just follow the signs for Cork (bringing you onto the Fermoy bypass - M8 / It's mostly straight but all very well signposted so you won't have a problem). You'll come off the motorway and keep straight on the N8 until you hit the Dunkettle Interchange (large traffic controlled roundabout - you won't miss it). From there follow the directions from the AA site.
