Mira Elite shower

My daughter has a Mira elite electric shower. It still works well, except recently it has started to emit a very loud noise when is use. Is there any way to fix this without replacing the unit.
Being caught in the usual economic, this is the last thing she wants to do, and Dad may have to attend to it.

Have you cleaned the filter? You can download the user manual online - a quick google search will pull it up. In addition, has the head been cleaned? Leave it soaking overnight in vinegar.
