Mini One - Switch Steering part for airbag - costing €653?

Anyone know what a Switch Steering part is for the above. My garage has told me it needs to be replaced costing €653.00 for the part

I have searched the web to no avail

The garage told me it's to do with the airbag

Any help appreciated

Did you get an airbag warning light...or what exactly is the problem?

Are you sure it was related to the airbag? It's just you mentioned "steering" switch and the power steering pump was a common failure on early Minis, up to around 2005 IIRC.

Mini used to charge about €800 to replace it!!

However, you'd know if you had failed or failing power steering........

Check prices in the north it might be cheaper there.

Ask them for the diagnostic code on the fault and the part number. Once you have these you can compare prices online
