Please think of all us lovely ladies at 3 o'clock today in this heat. I know town will be closed off to traffic and you might feel like letting off steam but believe me there will be steam rising off the participants in this heat.

only complaint I have is that there was no water station for the first 7 kilometres although the firemen in Donnybrook were kind enough to hose us down as we passed

they made sure they got the t shirt wet alright but sure there's nothing like a fireman holding his big hose

there were no female ones there, they were probably doing the marathon too

I don't imagine female fire fighters would be too interested in wetting women down.
