Mini Digger Hire

I'm looking to hire a mini digger but I'm having a little trouble. I approached a hire company in the Meath area, but they insisted my home insurance policy cover the digger. I then asked the Insurance company who then refused.

My question is:-

Do you know any companies who would include insurance in the quote?

The problem is that there is a requirement for driver competency which would affect your ability to insure the digger.

While the hire co are talking about the fire or theft of the digger your insurance company may be considering the risk of damage to the property etc.

It may be worth your while considering a digger and operator to do your work. I don't know of any hire companies that will extend their insurance to cover you, all risk is passed to the hirer who must have cover or run the risk of a hefty payout.

I think it would be nearly as cheap now to hire a mini digger with a driver. Most of the lads on utility work have there own mini diggers and would probably give you a good price. And they would also have their own public liability.
