Mindmapping software

Anyone know where I can get access to such software for free?

I came across a 30 day free trial for a product called imagineer or it might have been called inspiration , it was a while back. Microsoft Visio has a mindmapping template but I havent used it.

I must say that I find mind maps to be most effective when constructed on paper using pen and ink, but maybe Im old fashioned.

btw I hear Tony Buzan the father of mindmapping is in Dublin sometime this month. I think his company sell mindmapping software.

Thanks for the links lads much appreciated, I had checked out the Freemind but was not sure about downloading the Java stuff required in case it caused a problem. Anyway have done that now and seems to work fine.

There is no reason to presume that Java applications are any riskier than native Windows applications.
