Mileage of Diesel Mondeo

I am on the market for a cheap diesel, to get me out of a hole for a year or maybe two. I have a previous post on here about buying my brothers octavia 03 diesel 76k kilometers for €4,500. I see my uncle has this car in this week, is the mileage too much, or what mileage would a mondeo be capable of? Would it be worth offering him €1k for it?

You want strangers to give you advice on how to approach this with your own uncle? Can you not just sit down with the man and discuss it with him?
 
a wise man once said never buy from family as it may cause agro( ive never met the wise man) for 2-3000 you would get a better deal else where. mileage does seem v high, its twice what it should be

He should be paying you to take it off his hands rather than scrapping it!
