We hopin to trade in our 99 ford focus hatchback and getting another 2nd hand car, 2004/2005. We have 2 kids, both in child seats so safety is a big factor, and we've found the focus to be very reliable. Should we stick with the focus and get a more up to date model? as we're changing cars id like to get something different like a renault scenic but are they as reliable? Thanks

A Scenic isn't a mid-sized car!
If you're looking for a mid-sized hatchback you won't go wrong with the newer model Focus. It has been considered the best car in its class since its inception in 1998.
If you're looking for an MPV then that's a different scenario.
Maybe you could give us a clearer idea on what you want...maybe you are weighing mid-sized hatchback vs MPV?? That way people can give you a more focused answer (no pun intended
