Just looking for some quick pointers. I have recently purchased a new home PC and had been hoping to use it to assist with workload. Only problem is that it doesn't have Word/Excel package which is what I use at work. Is there a way around this? If not, does anybody have some cheap sources for the package? Thanks.

www.openoffice.org provide a free application which is very similar to MS office, you can save the files as .doc/.xls files if you need to send files to other non openoffice users. Its a big application so broadband is probably needed or else download to flash stick and move that way

Hi Trip,

I know of companies who have some kind of an arrangement with Microsoft which allows employees to load word, excel and power point on their home machines. Perhaps your company could come to a similar arrangement?
