Hello, although not a consumer query, I am a consumer of the credit card companies policy. I have a retail outlet and presently have a credit card merchant service account & machine with AIB, recently I received a letter informing me that the current machine dose not conform to the new "Credit card schemes" they want me to accept a new machine at increased cost and for a lease of 4 years! I do not recall if the present machine had a lease time attached. I want to know if there are any other options for receiving credit card payments in my retail premises, when out and about at the customers premises or house and at markers and shows that I would have a trade stall.
Is a portable machine working on a SIM card available? Are there options for merchant accounts elsewhere, perhaps not based in Ireland?
