Mercedes vito or Volkswagen shuttle/carvelle

Hello all,
Looking at buying one of the above to do taxi work, both are 07 mercedes is 2.2 diesel auto and the volkswagen is a 2.5 tdi auto or there is a 1.9 tdi manual, anyone any advice on these or anything else suitable in a 9 seater.

Mmmm I wouldn't be to impressed with any of these particularly the 1.9 tdi which is just too underpowered for the job.Transit or Hiace are much tougher and reliable,not easy to find decent ones secondhand.I presume you mean you the driver are in the 9th seat.
 
I wasn't aware that there were Transit or Hiace taxis on the road. Standards are slipping if these are now being used to ferry humans about.....
 
Oh god another smart alec on aam!! The people carrier version of the Transit is called the Tourneo. I don't know what the official name for the people carrier version of the Hiace is called but the import version is definitely good value (take out the fancy curtains!!)
 
Thats short reading compared to what can go wrong with Vito/Caravelle....
